Dear colleagues

The 12th European Conference on Applied Superconductivity EUCAS 2015 will be held from the 6th to the 10th of September 2015 at the convention center of Lyon designed by the Italian architect Renzo Piano.
Lyon is located between the two biggest superconducting machines around the word: LHC (Geneva, 150 km) and ITER (Cadarache, 300 km). Visits to these installations as well as in Grenoble and Saclay will be organized after the conference.
Lyon is the gastronomic capital of France and a very beautiful city. In Lyon you will treat your taste buds and you will enjoy the legacy of the past in a UNESCO World Heritage site. You will see unmissable sites, monuments, the famous traboules (ancient passageways) ... Lyon is the place where the Lumière brothers invented the Cinématographe and where, in 1895, they shot the first film in the history of the cinema: "Sortie d’Usine".
Lyon may be easily reached by plane (International airports of Lyon Saint Exupéry and Geneva (150 km)) or by train (Paris and Paris Airport (Charles de Gaulle) in less than 2 hours by TGV).
EUCAS brings together the scientists, researcher and industrial communities from around the world to discuss and present the latest researches and developments on applied superconductivity (Materials, Large Scale and Electronics).
2015 will be very rich in activities. After a long stop, LHC will operate again to reach its rated energy of 14 TeV.
The 11.75 T ISEULT MRI should be fully operational and bring the first images about the brain. All the ITER conductors will be produced and qualified opening the construction of the machine. The Grenoble Hybrid 43 T magnet will be under commissioning.
We are looking forward to meeting many of you in Lyon.
Save the date!
